AI receptionist for vets: your phone answered, even when you're in theatre

Voani answers your veterinary practice's phone while you're in a consultation or in theatre: it gives the opening hours, the vaccination or neutering prices you publish and the emergency number, and notes down the owner, the animal and the reason. It flags anything urgent; your team confirms the appointments.

What it does at your practice

  • Answers the usual questions: whether you're open today or on Saturday, your opening hours, the vaccination, check-up or neutering prices you publish and directions.
  • Notes down every appointment: the owner's name and number, the species and name of the animal, the reason and the day they'd prefer.
  • In an emergency, it says what you tell it to: for example, to call the practice's emergency number straight away. And it flags it in the dashboard.
  • Notes down medication requests for the vet to review: it never promises medication.

Rules for your practice

Emergencies first. Voani doesn't put calls through, so you make it clear with a rule:

  • When they say their animal has been poisoned, hit by a car or isn't breathing properly → tell them to call the practice's emergency number straight away and mark it as urgent.
  • When they ask for medication or a prescription → note what they need and for which animal, and say the vet will review it.
  • When they want to change or cancel their appointment → ask for their name and the day of the appointment, and say it will be confirmed.

The details of each call

As well as the name, the phone number, the reason and their preferred date, you ask for the details that are useful to you, up to five of your own: the species, the animal's name, its age, whether it's urgent or the vet they prefer. Each call reaches your dashboard with those details in order; urgent ones are flagged.

What it learns from your website

With “Read my website”, the AI reads up to 12 pages of your website and writes its document: your services, the prices you publish, opening hours, emergencies and where you are. If your fees are in a PDF, you upload it. Whatever isn't there, you write in yourself: for example, whether you offer dog grooming or see exotic pets.

What it would cost you

0.13 € per minute of conversation, VAT included and billed by the second. An example to give you an idea: 25 calls a day lasting a minute and a half, 26 days a month, come to 975 minutes: 126.75 € a month. You start with 20 free minutes, no card needed.

What it doesn't do yet

  • Put the call through to the vet on call: it gives out the emergency number you set.
  • Book the appointment into your practice management software or send vaccination reminders: it notes it down and your team confirms it.
  • Connect to the practice's phone: coming very soon. Today you create it and try it from your browser.

Frequently asked questions

What does it do in an emergency?

Whatever you tell it with a rule, for example to tell them to call the practice's emergency number straight away if the animal has been poisoned, hit by a car or isn't breathing properly. It also flags it as urgent in the dashboard. It doesn't put the call through.

Can it renew a prescription?

No. It notes down the request, which medicine and for which animal, and says the vet will review it. It never promises medication.

Does it give vaccination and treatment prices?

The ones in its document, which it learns from your website and your fees in PDF. If it's asked about one that isn't there, it doesn't make it up: it notes it down for you to answer.

Does it confirm appointments?

No: it notes down the owner, the animal, the reason and the day they'd prefer, and says the practice will confirm the time. It doesn't connect to practice management software yet.

Does it answer when the practice is closed?

Yes. It knows your hours and, outside them, greets callers with your practice-closed message, gives out the emergency number you set and takes a message so you can call back when you open.
